WHEN I USED TO WATCH BOXING I WOULD SEE CORTEZ IN THE MIDDLE GIVING INSTRUCTIONS & I WOULD GET A SICK FEELING THIS WAS EVIDENT WHEN HATTON FOUGHT MAYWEATHER IF FRANK CAPPUCHINO WAS THE REF HATTON WOULD WIN EVERY 3 SEC. HE WOULD BREAK THEM UP & NOT LET THEM OR HATTON FIGHT MAYBE I'M WRONG YOU'LL HAVE TO REPLY HAS CORTEZ EVER REFFED A FIGHT OF THE YEAR ? THANK GOD HE DIDN'T REF ANY GATTI FIGHTS OR CORALLES-CASTILLO

I can understand some of what Cortez did in the Hatton-Mayweather fight. Clinching as a strategy is illegal. Hatton stategy is to get off first then tie his oppenent up. Its a strategy that should not be allowed. But many refs in England have let him get away with it. On the other side he did turn a blind eye to Mayweathers elbow use. He was clearly biased in the Hopkins-Calzaghe fight. Hopkins was allowed to Headbutt, clinch and hit on the break with impunity.

ITS A GOOD ANSWER BUT IS CLINCHING REALLY ILLEGAL IT'S NOT AMATEUR & I HAVE NEVER SEEN CORTEZ MOVE THAT FAST IN ANY OF HIS FIGHTS I REALLY BELIEVE MAYWEATHER PAID HIM i know you think i'm crazy WATCH MAYWEATHERS OTHER FIGHTS WATCH CORTEZ REF OTHER FIGHTS HE'S NEVER THAT FAST THAT NIGHT HE COULD HAVE BROKEN 100M WORLD RECORD i'm hoping something happens to him cortez & nady should die LONG LIVE CAPUCHINNO as you get older you understand it is the most disorganised sport thats why sponsors wan't nothing to do with it without tyson there wouldn't be boxing

Spartan, stop typing in CAPS..

He may be inconsistant, but Hatton and Mayweather had only one result. Mayweather would have beaten Hatton regardless of the referee.
