in my opinion his resume since loosing to taylor twice has been better, acutually i thought he won both fights against taylor, he mainly lost the decisions because he was too cautious, and started slow u could always tell he had control and if he wanted to he could of easily pressed the action throughout the fights... but anyways those 2 defeats took him of the number 1 spot , but his resume since then has been more impressive moving up 2 weight classes and fighting the best light heavyweight in the world antonio tarver, then fighting winky wright who in most peoples eyes coming into that fight was 2 or 3 in the p4p rankings.. in both fights he was the underdog and he beat the odds and won the matches, i defintely believe his last 2 performances was enough to put him back to number 1 spot, Dont forget when he was the pound 4 pound number 1 in 2004-2005 for beating a bunch of bums between his fights against tito and oscar so if he could be number 1 for that resume then no doubt he should be number 1 now... anyways floyd mayweather wasn't convincing enough in his last fight against de la hoya who wasnt even in the top 10 coming in to that fight , B-hop pound 4 pound again! |

hopkins def should be in top3 p4p! I have him on spot 2 (and pacman on 3).
but mayweather is simply the man right now. he's beating top guys of all weightclasses and i just cannot see him lose...againt anybody.
hopkins wasnt very convincing against winky. some people say he even lost (harold lederman?). mayweather was not convincing against oscar too....but floyd def won that fight. |

Calazaghe is good, but i would not have him in the top 3 p4p fighters....
I mean, we cant rate him if he beats B. Hopkins, since B.Hop is 43 now........
Mayweather is #1, he as no other way to prove it, he has beaten classy opponents enough times |

Hopkins has been a good fighter for a long time but never great enough to be considered pound for pound the best ever.
I am not a huge Mayweather fan at all but he has to considered and some of the greats like Leonard and Hagler rank right up there. Theres Ali, and so many other fighters I can think of that were better than Hopkins. Let's not forget that when the old timers fought, they went for 15 rounds in championship fights and there was alot of better competition back then. Hopkins competition in his prime can't compare to having to fight guys like Hagler, Leonard, Duran, Hearns just to name a few. |
