well no? but it will not give you power it well make you push your punch instend of snaping it my coach has us go 4 round,s with two pound lbs and ech round is 3 minute,s and thein 3 withouttrust me it will wrok i have done it for over 9 year,s now any other qwestion,s just pm. me ..............k......... |

jim should i stop lifting 8 lbs and js do push ups? when i do lift weights on the 8lbs i do like 50 reps till my arms cant move it p and down no more, but im afraid when i punch its gonan slow it down |

use like 2 or 5 pound. .and do more push up,s and more pull up,s that will help trust me and only use wayt,s when shadowboxing |

whats better then the weights is medicine ball tosses. Get a small 6 or 8lb rubber med ball and stand about four or feet away from a stone or brick wall and throw the ball at the wall just like a punch. then catch and repeat. u can do this for jabs, crosses, and hooks and uppercuts. Really work on snapping ur hips. I dont do the hand weight thing unless its 1, 2, 0r 3 lb weights. It can be bad on ur shoulders. |
