What is the correct way to slip a punch in the peekaboo system by cus damato?
Iv seen two ways of doing it.One where the hips and body are twisted to the side, the other iv seen mike tyson doing is bending his torso sideways.
Are these both correct ways to slip a punch?
How specifically do you slip a punch what body parts do you move?
By the way im talking about jabs and straight rights for now
Thanx

Both is right to me.

The first one you mention where you twist to the side is good, because you can throw counter hooks to the body or head from the motion of the "twist". The one where you just slip by bending the torso sideways is hard to punch from. but faster, saying you can slip more punches.

This is just my opinion of course. Cool Sorry for the bad english, im swedish!

Its said that its best to slip a punch so that the punch barely passes your head. My opinion is to practice slipping and kept it tight where the punch just grazes you. But in a fight you loosing up and can get a little wild even with head movement. Watch Tyson use the slip bag and sliping drills he does with Rooney and you will see he practices slipping tightly. But the main thing is to not get hit and put youreself in a position to be in range to punch back. But even if you are not in a position to hit back atleast dont get hit.

like cus d' said, any bum can punch, not getting hit is the real deal...
Watch tyson videos on the slip bag. there are a couple of other dudes doing slip bag work-outs on youtube.
You'll notice when tyson bends his torso in slip bag training, he only moves his upper body and hardly bends his knees to further the movement (knees are slightly bent to begin with but this is more for balance ). Since we mere mortals don't have the same kind of instinct and speed, I find it effective to also bend your knees when bending your torso to add a couple more inches to the movement.

You'll also notice that he slips multiple times even if the other fighter only throws a single punch.

Try this punch then slip immediately (don't punch and wait to get countered) AND

slip then punch (using the side bend as a starting position for power punching)
