I think its absolutely the best way forward.
Tyson has already taken Steve lott from the Old days back, and so Kevin would be great for Mike.
That way, he could go back to all the training methods he used when he was undisputably the best fighter on the planet, but also learn Eddie Futch methods from freddie, who Mike has formed a brilliant relationship with.
I think Roach must stay in Team tyson, but Id love to see them all relcoate to the gym in Catskills, and do thisngs right.
Running in the hills, training by numbers, moving his head in the Cus system, and get guys like Oliver McCall, Ray Mercer, Henry Akinwande, David Bostice and Audely Harrison in as sparring partners.
Have him sparring everyday, and training very, very high intensity.
I just think, if it was going to happen, it would have happened by now. |

Those thoughts and words sound like music in my ears!
I partly agree though. Mike going back to Catskill and training in the Cus-system under Rooney again would be absolutely great just for the nostalgic reasons alone.
A cooperation between Rooney and Roach on the other hand i don't see much in.
It would be a dreamteam on paper,...but both trainers have to much of their own will, thoughts and conflicting systems. They would never work as partners,..more like concurrents. |
