Good day everyone on this forum.
I have a question for you Tyson fans. Before I ask it I would like you all to know that yes I did try the search feature. But the truth of the matter is that I'm as good with computers as I'm good with salsa, meaning 0 experience.
I would like to get some information about Mike Tyson's training regime, I hear some people talking about a guy named Scott who is supposed to know alot about it. Has anyone any information from this man? So everyone that has any information I would want you all to collect all the info in this thread. PLEASE. I'm new here by the way so greetings to all you fellow Tyson fans.
Please help me out with this guys if you can, drop a comment if you know anything about it. Thank you in advance!

I don't knoe anything about a scott but steve lott, tyson's former assistant manger gave a brief summary of it in a interview with this site, here is the quote:
2. As an amateur boxer, I am interested in knowing other fighter's training regime. Can you give me a summary of Mike's prime training, diet/nutrition, strength/conditioning exercises etc?
RUNNING A FEW MILES A DAY CALISTHENICS: PUSHUPS, SIT UPS, LEG RAISES,
NECK BRACES
SPEED BAG
HEAVY BAG
SPARRING
FOOD
JUST BE INTELLIGENT
BUT - ALL OF THE ABOVE MEANS NOTHING IF YOU DO NOT MOVE YOUR HEAD. THAT IS WHAT SEPARATED MIKE TYSON FROM EVERY OTHER FIGHTER. THE DAMATO SYSTEM.

First of all, here's Steve Lott's e-mail address BIGFIGHTS@aol.com
I sent him a mail where I asked about Mike's training and he said that Mike only trained before fights, and when he was training for the fights, he used to train about 2-3 hours per day.
Mr. Lott also said that "There was no weight training - just gym work - sparring, bag and pads"
From the various interviews that I have read, it seems that Mike's usual training routine was something like this:
4-5 AM - At least 3 mile jog and some sprints, followed by calisthenics workout
11-12 PM - About 2 hours of gym work, jumping rope, sit-ups, neck-bridges, punching bags and sparring 7 to 10 rounds.
Mike trained like this 6 days a week. |

This kinda amazes me, I thought he would train more hours a day |

I remember seeing an interview a few years ago with tyson where he said that when he was training for a fight he would run 8 miles a day or more. I wish I could remember what interview that was..... |
