hey guys, this is my first post. I just started boxing about two months ago. Anyway i need to confirm sometihng regarding the left hook. When you hit with the left hook, does your palm face you or the floor? I had seen instruction videos showing it with the palm facing the floor..... but pros like tyson hit with the palm facing himself..... i tried it on the heavy bag and the palm facing myself gives me more power....hmmmm... any help will be great guys! cheers Very Happy

The reply was a little unclear, but i kind of got his message .....anyway i tried it on the heavy bag and i realise that a hook with the palm facing me gives the most power while a hook with palm facing the ground sometimes lead to contact with last two knuckles which is not good. I think a hook with sort of an angle like what he said is good.....anyway thanks a lot dude!

Tyson throws his left hook with his thumb up and palm facing down. I wondered about this too. When he knocked out Berbick his palm was down but when he knocked out Tubbs and Williams his thumb was up.
