Help Needed to Counter New Tyson Documentary

I was hoping that any of you could spare a few moments and give me a hand in acquiring some information regarding Tyson.

As you know there is the new "Tyson" documentary that has been shot by James Toback.

Currently, there is volatile discussion between the producers of the documentary and me regarding Tyson's statements in the film.

In this documentary Mike has said he always had demons and problems.

I would like to be accurate with my information so I would like to make a list of all the various problems, incidences, infractions, accusations, etc., that Mike was responsible for during the time he was with us from March 1985 - July 1988.

My close ties to Mike, and my dear feelings for him, have clouded my memory and caused me to forget the bad things he did while he was with us.

I remember two incidences:
January 1986 - He and Rory Holloway were involved in throwing some clothes at an Albany Mall.
March 1987 - Mike faced charges of slapping a parking lot attendant in Los Angeles.

At your convenience could you please list the ones I have forgotten.

I dont really know anything besides rumors....but I remember Rooney saying in an interview that Tyson had participated in a robbery?....But I could be wrong my memory is abit fuzzy

Mike was involved in many robberies before he got to Cus in 1980. But there were none once Mike beacme a pro and lived in my apartment.

I am looking for the period of March 1985 - June 1988. In the movie Mike says he was always bad. But he ignores this period when he was a world-wide hero.

I think 1988 was the year Mike Tyson Hit Mitch Green and broke his hand?
Looking throught a biography i saw a few things i dnt know whether are true or not..ill write out the extracts :

1) "i overheard cus talking to jimmy on the phone. i know that cus and jimmy paid off a women $5,000 or ?10,000 dollars because mike knocked up her daughter they decided it wouldnt look good because he would be champ somesay" - im not sure this falls in your time line tho.

2) something else in theis biography talks about after his first few pro fights mike went back to brooklyn and mugged someone in an elevator.

3)"Tyson and a friend were asked to leave the crossgates mall in albany after creating a disturbance. Word got out, and a reporter investigated, and reported in the paper that a mall security officer said tyson made lewd and obscene comments to female customers and was throwing clothes around" Tyson allegedly propositioned a young white salesgirl in blunt language rife with 4 letter words. she in turn told him just what she thought of him, sending the fighter into a rage. he reportedly grabbed a rack of clothing and threw it towards her and exploding in a torrent of filthy gutter language. - mall personnal did not press charges.

Rooney says it was tysons friend who caused the disturbance. And when looked into the security manager refused to give info and said it was a "very minor thing". Grondalhn thinks someone has contacted the girls superiors and succeeded in supressing the story.

if it's really you steve lot on this site i believe you but with some people who have lived a few hundred lifetimes in 20 years they forget things probably in a duration from 3 - 5 years , something to do with memory , sometimes its probably the funnest time in your life . i don't know him but i'm familiar with his charactor & deep down i know he's a great person . this is the period when mike was doing commercials i believe therefore i cannot see him doing any wrong in that period even those 2 minor incidents i'm sure most people on earth would have done a lot more to there adversaries. there would have been a pretty good reason. maybe you should remind mike about those years & unblock his memory but sometimes you try to forget the best times of your life because they hurt this is what's happened i believe. you & tyson should hookup & make a proper career collection with extras & all the training footage you have that we haven't seen. now i have watched you film tyson training i'm sure we haven't seen the best of him care to share Very Happy

Thank you - you have a great memory
- The Mitch Green incident took place in July 1988 after Mike left us and was married to Robin Givens. This did not happen between March 1985 and June 1988.

- I was not aware of the pregnancy - It was not reported in any newspaper or magazine from 1985 - 1988 - If it did take place it must have been in 1982-1983 - 1984 - before Mike finally became the man we all knew. This did not occur while Mike was with me in the period I listed above.

- I have never heard about the mugging - it was never reported in any magazine or newspaper -if Mike was involved in a mugging it must have taken place in Brooklyn before he got to Cus - if Mike was involved in a mugging during the period 1985 - 1988, it would have been reported by the victim and made the newspapers, radio, TV. By the way, I have heard rumors of Mike claiming to do bad things while he was with us from 1985 - 1988. Please remember, Mike was trying to look "bad" for his "Brookyln" brothers on the street. During the period March 1985 - June 1988, Mike never did any of the bad things he may have claimed to do. With the exception of the two I have listed. And those two were not "planned" - they happened out of Mike's sheer stupidity and immaturity in the "moment."

-The Crossgates Mall incident is accurate and that is one of the incidents I listed in my original post. The other, of course, was the parking lot attendant. I am looking for any "real" incidences -not rumors or hearsay - incidences that were reported in the news, that made the radio, TV., etc.

I don't recall any other than the two I listed.

Wasn't there also an incident involving a Bentley?

Thank you - you have an excellent memory also. While Mike was driving the Bentley with Robin she put her hand in his pocket and found condoms. Since she knew he wasn't using condoms with her she figured that it was because he was seeing other women. They got into a fight. He drove into another car. When the police came he gave the car to them and said keep it. The following day Bill Cayton sent me to the Police to pick the car up and return it to Mike.

But that happenned after the time period. That incident was in July 1988 after Mike got married. The moment they got married Mike's life and demeanor changed dramatically. Robin began torturing Mike - setting him up for the big money divorce with the now famous Barbara Walters Show where she humiliated Mike and had him say he was manic depressive.

Robin Givens does not want anyone asking one very important question - why wasn't he manic depressive in 1984 - 1985 - 1986 - 1987 - ??

Remember what Mike told friends before Robin conned him into getting married by saying she was pregnant - He said - be careful - she is a great actress!

Ive looked back myself to the time period you state,and apart from the two incidents you mention i really cant find any more confirmed problems...

Thats not to say Mike was a complete angel but in that period he was absolutly dedicated to Boxing.He fought,he trained,he fought,he trained.He was always in the gym,learning every day,and fighting very often...

This regime kept him away from any real problems outside of the ring,plus the team around him at that time were there to care for him and look after him...not like in later years...

If i find any confirmed reports i shall post them for you...Ill keep looking..

This time line points to May 1988 as when Mike was involved in a New York fender bender and gave his Bentley away to cops...

The car crash into the tree came a few months later,along with the Green incident when things were spinning out of control...

Thank you all.

The reason for my original question about Mike's behaviour is that Mike has done this new documentary film and he tells lie after lie about his career.

I think the two new managers he has, Harlan Werner and Damon Bingahm, have told him that all these lies will make for a great movie and it will draw a lot of people to see it.

Mike must be so brainwashed by these new managers that he never, ever, talks about the period I am referring to: March 1985 - June 1988. It was during this period that Mike was a world-wide hero, and quite possibly, the world most popular athlete.

I know of the two incidences I mentioned but I wanted to make sure that I did not miss anything. I thank you all. The things that all of you have mentioned occured either before March 1985 or after June 1988.

I can tell you that during the period of March 1985 - June 1988, most of which Mike slept on my couch, he was the happiest guy in the world. And he did not require any supervision: he went out by himself, went on dates by himself, went around town by himself, traveled the USA by himself - without any problems. He knew that he had an obligation to act like the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

the crashed car happened in september it was in the papers sep. 7 thats why i didn't bring it up i have a magazine which shows a list of bad things tyson did in 88 leading up to the spinks fight insep. thing started happening between mike & robin jacobs also died in 88

it's good to have someone like steve to correct these mistakes. someone that knew him and knows when he is lying or else this documentary woud get away with all these lies
