After watching any recent footage of mike whether it be the High Chapparel vids, cannes interviews, E60 etc.
I can't help but think after all the drug abuse, and then re-hab, and now sobriety - They would have had to have put mike under some sought of medication to explain the state he's in. Watch an interview from say 2003 and compare it to 07/08 footage.
Mike is super slow and phased out not to mention the all the excess weight. Its hard to look at him like that and then think about how quick and ferocious he used to be. spins me out!
Whats everyone elses opinion?

Well, basically I agree with you. I don't think he is happy in his life right now, and that will be necessary for him time to be okay again. With all the things he passed, drug abuse, troubles, etc, is natural that now he is not very well phisically and mentally.

We recently went to see Mike at a VIP dinner in Carlisle UK, great event where we had photo's and signed pics done. I would agree that Mike seems a little slow nowadays but thats just part of getting older.

There's a possability that he may be on antidepressents which make you more relaxed. You see the problem with getting to Mike's age (although not old) is that you have to come to terms with the fact that you are never gonna be what you once were!!! Mike even said on the night that he still thinks of making a come-back although he never will now.

You have to remember that Mike is 41 now and although their are some supreme athletes at that age (bernard Hopkin's 43) Mike was past his best at around 34/36.

Mike pretty much guarenteed that was it from him now and was leaving it to the next generation (david haye maybe)

having now met Mike i would have to say that he should really concentrate on what makes him most happy and stick with that!!!!!

When he was with Bill Cayton he was tested to see if he was manic depressive and the results were negative. Why he started to take medication for depression which could of been solved by other means is anyone's guess. The medication would of relieved the symptoms but not solved the root causes. I just hope now that he finds some measure of peace, which he never had before.

mike tyson's prime was 18-23 yrs old at 24 he wasn't the same as mike tyson at that age never did any weight training the muscle was created by the speed he posessed so he has been long gone just after douglas he started using drugs & was given anti depressants by his shrink even though he never went to the clinic robin would go & act as mike in order to fight he had to come off the drugs which show in his fight with holyfield he snapped from mill lane not taking control that wasn't the mike i knew as you have read my other quotes of hardest punches i did not rate lewis there but there was 1 punch he landed on the side of mike's head in a downward motion which mike took & kept going lewis also hurt his hand & shoulder from it. i think some fighters never recover from something like that age is also a factor mike is not 41 he is 70
