Not the hardest, but one of the hardest. And what he had with it aswell, was effectiveness. Most effective Heavyweight puncher ever. Think about that.

Foreman, Shavers and Liston were all "harder' than Mike I believe.

But yes, none of these guys had the handspeed or accuracy of Mike, making them far less effective.

Exactamondo! U can have enough power to shatter concrete but if u dont know how to deliver it, dont have any speed, U can fuh'git abouddit! I had to find out the hard when I first got into boxing. It was a humbling experience for me, being a heavyweight, and getting picked apart in sparring by a 5'11 professional lightweight by the name of Fatal Freddie Ladd. I learned that day, that my power didnt mean sh*t coz I had no skill at that time. I think Mike ranks in the top 5 hardest punchers of all time. Anyone that says Mike wasnt a 1 punch KO fighter, needs to look at some films again.

Peace

I think a case could be made he was the hardest puncher, but there are many other contenders. No one had the mixture of power and speed tho. And i agree with most of you as he was mch more effective than all teh other big hitters!

I would say NO man ever had a harder more effective upper cut then he did. He put so much leverage and force pushing up from his powerfull legs into it, that when it connected it was deadly.

Agreed......I have never seen an uppercut that deadly. As for Wlad being a harder puncher, could be true because of Wlad's height and the distance he throws from plus the amount of weight he puts into it. On the inside I cant see Wlad hitting harder because he cant generate much leverage, torque or snap and that can be said for any tall fighter like that.

I don't know if you can say he was the hardest puncher ever.
But if you look at size and weight classes then Tyson definitely was the hardest puncher in his class.
It was insane because Mike was a small guy (you could even make a case that he was more a cruiserweight early in his career) yet he was knocking out full grown men almost twice his size and weight while Tyson was still a kid himself. That's very abnormal. He showed that size doesn't really matter. Hard punches are defined by it's speed and accuracy too.

There are other punchers that are not boxers.

Like Fujita and Fedor.
