After weeks of negotiations that wavered on fight dates and venues, things have finally taken shape on the Mike Tyson-Kevin McBride showdown. Shelly Finkel told It looks like Mike will be fighting McBride on July 30th in Louisville Kentucky. The fight will be televised on Showtime and it will be a PPV event.? In April, Top Ranks Bob Arum secured the July 31st date (Saturday) for his PPV match-up between Erik Morales and Carlos Hernandez. The Tyson-McBride fight was also scheduled on the same day, but it was changed in order to avoid a conflict like there was last October 4 when head-to-head pay-per-view events hurt both promotions (Toney-Holyfield and Morales-Espadas). Regarding the persistent rumor that Tony Brown of CMX was in discussions with Team Tyson, Finkel states Yes, we were talking with CMX. But we have not come to any terms with them.? Finkel also added that a fight between Tyson and light heavyweight champ Antonio Tarver was a very strong possibility.?
