"The Mike Tyson World Tour" made a stop at J-Bella's restaurant in Strongsville, Ohio on Monday afternoon. The event acted as a luncheon and press conference to promote Mike Tyson's exhibition fight against Corey "T-Rex" Sanders on October 20 in Youngstown, Ohio at the Chevrolet Centre.

Attending the press conference was Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs), his trainer Jeff Fenech, promoter Sterling McPherson, junior middleweight Juan McPherson (3-0, 2 KOs) and his trainer Al Jones.

"We are very excited that the 'Mike Tyson's World Tour' is just around the corner," stated the promoter. "Mike and I picked Youngstown because we knew it was a great fight town and Mike is looking to put on a great show for everyone," said McPherson.

Tyson echoed the same comments: "I'm just looking to have fun. If people are expecting some sort of annihilation then they're coming to the wrong show."

Asked if he still considered himself the 'Baddest Man on The Planet,' Tyson replied: "I'm just Mike. I'm just trying to be a good person. I have a lot of pain in me right now from boxing. There is a lot of scum in boxing and I'm sick of it. The people up here," commented Tyson while pointing to Fenech, (Juan) McPherson and (Sterling) McPherson, "are good people and we are looking to put on a great show."

One funny moment came when Tyson joked about the wide range of opponents he would like to compete with on the tour. "I would fight women, children, celebrities, you name it." (a quote which many people from the press would later take out of context). Then the former champion added with a smile: "I'm just looking to have fun. The money that comes in from these fights will go to charities. I'm a big fan of children's hospitals."

"Fight as much as possible," advised Tyson to the young prospect McPherson. "Juan should be fighting every month building up his record. He shouldn't be thinking about sex, women or anything else. Boxing should be his focus."

Promoter Sterling McPherson also commented on Juan: "This kid should have a gold medal right now. I believe that Juan has the talent to become one of the youngest fighters to win a world title"

"Juan's got four fights before the end of 2006," stated Al Jones, the trainer of McPherson. "Right now he's 3-0 and before the end of the year he'll be 7-0. He's got four fights coming up and I'm sure all those wins will be knockouts."

The promotional week continues this week with a public workout on Tuesday in Youngstown followed by a final press conference on Wednesday.
