Fans will be asked to pay £50 a head to see the 39-year-old former World Heavyweight Champion talk about his life inside and outside the ring.

Tyson is said to be 'looking forward' to his visit to Wales, which will see him fly into the Welsh capital on March 16, the day before the event at Cardiff International Arena.

The theatre show will also feature boxing heroes Joe Calzaghe and Frank Bruno. A host of Welsh rugby legends including Neil Jenkins, Jonathan Davies and Scott Gibbs, are also expected to take part in the show to pay tribute to Tyson.

The ex-boxer's visit to Cardiff will kick-off a short tour of the UK with an event at Manchester Apollo on 21 March and at London Hammersmith Apollo on 23 March.

His latest tour is a return to the UK, nearly four months after he enjoyed a mini tour of speaking engagements, where tickets cost £150 a head.

Ray Fisher, of Warrington-based Fisher Promotions, who is promoting the event, said: 'This will be the first time that Mike has visited Wales and we're expecting the venue, which has a 5,000 capacity, to sell out. He last came to the UK in November, and he did a five-day sell-out dinner tour. His behaviour was impeccable.'

He added: 'He will be interviewed and answer questions about his life in and out of the ring. He will be more accessible and open than last year.

'He's a totally different person from the one the press lead us to believe he is.'

There will be a chance for 60 fans to meet and have their photograph taken with Tyson, at a champagne reception before the main event, but they will have to pay £125 for a ticket.

Tickets for the main event, which cost £50, are set to go on sale on Friday. To book, contact the CIA box office on 029 2022 4488. For Manchester Apollo - 21 March - Booking office 0870 401 8000.
London Hammersmith Apollo - 23 March - Booking office 0870 606 3400.
