| Mike Tyson News: Tyson starring in porn rumours false! |
|
|
 |
Recently news have been going around that Mike Tyson would officially enter the porn industry. While it's true that Mike was asked for this it's absolutely false and not true that he will star in a porn movie. He denied the rumour that he would do porn in in his latest interview at boxingtalk.
A snippet of the interview:
GL: "It seems a lot of peope picked up on our last interview, unfortunately all of the people who picked it up, Jay Leno, Jim Rome, the papers, the one thing they focused on was the stupid line about porn, which I kind of regret keeping in there".
Mike Tyson: "I thought that was pretty cool though. That's not something I'm really serious about doing, but it was funny how many people made something out of nothing."
The full interview can be read at boxingtalk.

| Mike Tyson News: Mike Tyson attends the K-1 World Grand Prix in Honolulu |
|
|
 |
As rumoured by local media and Japanese reports Mike Tyson attended the K-1 World Grand Prix in Honolulu July 29.

Mike Tyson (L) of the U.S. congratulates Musashi (R) of Japan after he defeated Rickard Nordstrand of Sweden at the K-1 World Grand Prix in Honolulu July 29, 2005. The event consists of martial arts matches with fighters from Brazil, Japan, Canada, Sweden and the U.S., including a battle between former Sumo Grand Champion Akebono and Choi Hong-man of South Korea.
After his performance Choi motioned to Mike Tyson, who was sitting ringside, and seemed to call out the former boxing heavyweight champion. Tyson has been rumored to be on the verge of signing a deal with K-1.
"The crowd was too loud, so I didn't hear what he said," Choi said after calling Tyson out in the ring. "Since he came all the way to Hawaii for K-1, I thought if I have a chance to fight him I'd be happy."
In the past Mike Tyson often signed contracts with K-1 to promote or commentate. His last display in the K-1 world was a similar act as he was challenged by Bob Sapp when Tyson came in to congratulate him.

| Mike Tyson News: Interview: Kevin Rooney |
|
|
 |
 Source: boxingtalk
By Donald Wright
Boxingtalk recently caught up with former Mike Tyson trainer
Kevin Rooney, following his young heavyweight Mike Dietrich’s
impressive knockout victory in Maryland. In this explosive
interview, Rooney talks about Dietrich, the state of today’s
heavyweight division, and of course, Mike Tyson. Rooney also
reveals new details about the night Teddy Atlas pulled a gun on a young
Mike Tyson at Cus D’Amato’s home and training complex in Catskill, New
York.
Boxingtalk: Kevin, your local charge, Mike Dietrich had an impressive knockout victory tonight, tell us about Mike Dietrich.
Kevin
Rooney: Well you know Mike has the potential to, I don’t want to say –
but I do want to say – take over the heavyweight division, because he’s
a young kid, and he’s got power. Now, with power you can hurt
people. And the more I work with him, the more, hopefully, he’ll
become much more aggressive. I mean this kid, in my opinion, he
should have knocked him out in the first round. What I see in him
is a desire to try to take over the heavyweight division.
BT: How long have you been working with him now?
Kevin
Rooney: It’s been about a year, and I’ve been mainly in and out.
But, you know, knowing the fight game, if this kid wants to step up to
the plate, what I personally see in the heavyweight division is not
much. You’ve got the Klitschko brothers, and they’re nothing
special in my opinion. If I had a kid – if I had Mike Dietrich –
just get a little more head movement and then put him in the ring with
these guys, in my opinion, they’re not going to know what’s going on.

| Mike Tyson News: Paradise Valley approves Tyson plan for pigeon coop |
|
|
 |
 Source: The Arizona Republic
By Diana Balazs
PARADISE VALLEY - Boxer Mike Tyson's pet pigeons will have a home to roost in in Paradise Valley after all.
Officials have approved plans for a coop to house his birds at his new residence on Mummy Mountain.
"Everything seems to be OK. The town is going to issue a building
permit to finish the project," said Hamid Arshadi, Paradise Valley's
building and zoning director.
The permit most likely will be issued Monday, Arshadi said Friday.
In late June, town inspectors halted construction of the backyard coop
after learning that it was being built without the town-required permit.
Representatives for Tyson then filed an application to obtain a
building permit. The detached coop will be about 100 square feet with
the improvements, including air-conditioning, having an estimated value
of $12,000, according to the application.
The town had some technical questions about the coop's structure and
revised plans were dropped off late this week, Arshadi said.
Tyson plans to house 85 to 100 birds in it.
While the town does not regulate the number of birds a resident can
keep, they must be kept on the property and not pose a public nuisance.
"As long as the birds are maintained in compliance with the animal
control section of the (town) code, then they shouldn't be any
problem," Arshadi said.
