Mike Tyson News: Meet boxing legend Mike Tyson. Win a drink with fight legend plus dinner tickets

News Source: sheffieldtoday

Thanks to phxmikefan

Boxing legend Mike Tyson is coming to South Yorkshire and we’ve got a knockout dream prize to celebrate. Today we’re giving a Star reader and a guest the chance to win a drink with Iron Mike! Our runner up will also meet him - with two top price VIP tickets to his after dinner engagement at The Dome in Doncaster, on Monday, November 21.
Frank Bruno is special guest and the compere is Sky Sports boxing expert Steve Bunce. Tyson, aged 39, the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, is one of the greatest boxers in prizefighting history.
His speed, power and angry aggression made him the youngest ever world heavyweight champ when he dropped Trevor Berbick to gain the World Boxing Council title in 1986, aged just 20. For a time he was invincible. He had 50 wins, including 44 knockouts, two no-contests and just six defeats. Tyson will spend two days in the area as guest of Askern based superfan and close friend, Andy Booker - who is co-promoting the Doncaster show.
Newsagent Andy, 41, will take him home for Sunday lunch and for a couple of drinks at his local. Our first prize is for a Star reader and a guest to join them for a drink. One runner up gets a pair of VIP tickets, also including a meet and greet, plus four course meal, at The Dome, Doncaster, on November 21, 2005. For a chance to win, collect two tokens from The Star.

More information and guidelines about the contest are available in the extended section of this post (click 'Read More' below).

Mike Tyson News: Jamie Foxx longs to put Tyson's biopic onscreen

NewsSource: suntimes
By Cindy Pearlman
October 26, 2005

Jamie Foxx wants to put up his dukes. The Oscar-winning star of "Ray" tells GLARE there is another biopic he would love to bring to the big screen.

"I think the Mike Tyson story should be told on film," Foxx says. "Nobody knows the stuff I know about Mike. Again, it's blow-your-mind material. He also speaks in phrases that make you listen."

Foxx even has logged some time with the champ.

"I was talking to Mike recently and he told me, 'Jamie, I don't even have any money now. But I'm happy. I don't worry about anything. I'm just happy. I'm even glad I don't have any money because now nobody wants to do me wrong or f--- me over.'"

Foxx shakes his head.

"You give any 19-year-old kid 60 million dollars and see just how crazy it gets for him," he says.

So Foxx wants to film Tyson's story.

"It's not happening yet, but I believe in putting things in the air," he says with a smile. "Hopefully, something will catch."

Meanwhile, Foxx stars in the war film "Jarhead," which opens in November.
